“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,” Matthew 25:35 .

In a season that’s all about love it’s easy to get caught up in the romantic side of love, to be busy buying roses for your Mrs or building up to ask someone out on a date. Now there’s nothing wrong with that at all but in this season devoted to love how amazing would it be if we showed love to everyone around us, not just our partners.

Jesus showed love to so many in so many ways. None of it was romantic love but it was a love that was powerful and literally life altering. How can you show love to someone today?

Maybe it’s giving someone the encouragement they really need right now, maybe it’s buying lunch for that homeless person you pass everyday on your way to work, maybe it’s giving money into a great charity or cause, maybe it’s just being a better friend, parents, child, colleague. There are so many ways we can show love to others and sometimes it’s as simple as sharing a smile or just putting someone else’s interests in front of our own. Why don’t you try it this season?
