For more than 30 years, our CBN office in Ukraine has served the people of Ukraine and the Former Soviet Union through Christian media broadcasting, humanitarian projects and Superbook children’s ministry. CBN’s ministry to vulnerable children, Orphan’s Promise, has established various training centres that offer our ‘School of Life’ programmes, SEED (Something to Eat Every Day) agricultural programmes and livelihood projects in order to break the cycle of poverty. CBN’s Operation Blessing provides food and winter fuel to struggling families and provide life changing surgeries to people who cannot afford medical intervention.
About 8 months before the war broke out, the CBN Ukraine office joined the CBN Europe family of ministries, which was the Lord’s perfect timing. During these 8 months, we were able to set up a better support network – not knowing that the war in Ukraine would break out on 24th of February 2022. The Lord used this time to join us together for His purposes and to prepare us for a very challenging season.
When the war broke out, CBN’s international teams rallied behind our teams in Ukraine to bring immediate and meaningful support. With the help of generous CBN partners, we were able to immediately set up a logistic chain with the aim to bring food, hygiene items and disaster relief support into Ukraine. We set up warehouses in Poland and Ukraine and successfully delivered more than 250 trucks with relief goods into Ukraine, from where goods were effectively distributed to struggling families across Ukraine.
Our Operation Blessing and Orphan’s Promise teams in Ukraine have worked tirelessly to bring relief to thousands of beneficiaries, thanks to the generous support of donors in the USA, Japan, Europe and beyond. Today, our budget for humanitarian support has decreased significantly – in line with donor support. It is our vision to raise increased finance to provide much needed supplies to Ukrainians who need support.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
